Each and every one has its own vision of what are cabinets of curiosities. To my eyes, they are a jumble of things unconnected, a grand bazaar arousing in my mind a kind of awkwardness. Indeed, for me, they are much more rooms of horrors than wonder-rooms. But regarding that, Charles Baudelaire said "Strangeness is a necessary ingredient in beauty.”. Like that what is disturbing is not obviously unsightly.
For me, beyond exciting our curiosity, cabinets exist in order to push us to look for explanations around us. That is why for this collection I put knowledge at the service of beauty. Firstly by composing strange garments becoming aesthetic thanks to details you can observe when you approach the creation. Actually by getting closer to something we understand its nobility. Then by composing beautiful clothes becoming stranger and stranger while you move closer: it is the same reason.
